ABOUT Mulika Tanzania

Mulika Tanzania is a youth-led organization that strives to put young people at the center of development and decision-making processes. Mulika was formed and registered in 2015 with the aim of making the youth part of the decision-making process. Mulika was registered as an NGO in 15th July 2015 and later formally began work in 2017.  Following the amended NGO act of 2002, the organization registered afresh on 18th July 2019. Mulika Tanzania is an active member of the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth (UNMGCY) and also a member of the African Youth Adolescents Network on Population and Development (AfriYAN ESA) through AfriYAN Tanzania Chapter.

Hussein Melele

Founder & Executive Director

Hussein Melele is a young expert with vast knowledge and experience of more than five years working on youth development agendas and serving the marginalized community towards advancing Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). He is also a Vice President of Youth and Adolescents Network on Population and Development of Eastern and Southern Africa (AfriYAN ESA), serving more than 20 countries of Eastern and Southern Africa on promoting SRHR to adolescents and young people. Marx Chocha

Programs Lead

Marx Chocha, currently serving as the Head of Programs and Interim Deputy Executive Director at Mulika Tanzania, is a professional with extensive experience in program management within the development sector and civil society organizations. With a Master's in International Relations and a background in Law, Marx excels in designing and implementing initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable development. His expertise lies in coordinating diverse projects, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring the effective delivery of development programs focusing on the realization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) focusing on Human Rights approach. Fred Werema

Administration and Finance Lead

Fred Werema has a vast knowledge of finance and accounts over a period of time. He has been managing the accounts committee for over three years with good success. He is driven with transparency, trust, and professionalism as a core value of his works. He believes proper accounting management of the corporate plays a great role in reaching for the social impacts of the institution. He is dedicated,firm with good financial literacy.
